Mersin Film Office joins the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN)

The Mersin Film Office (MSO), which continues its operations under the umbrella of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, has officially become a member of the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN), one of Europe's most comprehensive film commission associations. Thus, Mersin will become one of the actors representing Türkiye in this important industrial cooperation network, which includes 101 film commissions from 33 countries.

Mersin on the Radar of Global Film Production

With EUFCN membership, Mersin is set to become a more visible destination for international film production. The city’s natural landscapes, cultural richness, deep historical heritage, and multicultural character make it an increasingly appealing location for films, series, and documentary projects. This growing visibility is expected to boost film tourism and create new opportunities for the local economy.

Mersin as a Bridge Between Europe and Türkiye

The Mersin Film Office's participation in EUFCN will not be limited to supporting film shoots; it will also function as a bridge that strengthens cultural interaction between Europe and Türkiye. By taking part in an international partnership network that supports creative production, the city will contribute to the development of the regional cinema sector. The inclusion of the Mersin Film Office in this structure will also be a significant contribution to making regional film offices in Türkiye more visible on international platforms. With this strategic membership, Mersin is preparing to strengthen its position in the cinema industry with a vision that extends from the local to the universal.

Mersin: A Natural Film Set

Mersin has recently attracted the attention of both local and international producers. With its unique geography where the sea, mountains, and historical sites can all be reached within the same day the city truly functions as a “natural film set.” EUFCN membership represents a significant step forward, helping showcase this potential to wider audiences and strengthening the city’s overall brand value.

What is EUFCN?

EUFCN, founded in 2007 and headquartered in Brussels, operates with the goal of supporting the development of the European cinema industry and increasing the role of cities in film production. This network, which includes many important organizations from the Limburg Film Office in the Netherlands to the Valencia and Barcelona commissions in Spain, and the Bayern Film Commission in Germany to the Kaunas Film Office in Lithuania opens doors to new collaborations worldwide.
