Open-Air Cinema Nights Continue Under the Stars
Organized by the Mersin Film Office under the Department of Culture, Art and Social Affairs of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, the Open-Air Cinema Nights continue to bring cinema lovers together at Kültür Park. The program aims to promote cinema culture citywide and give the people of Mersin the chance to enjoy high-quality films.
At the third screening of the Open-Air Cinema Nights, held next to Panayır Cafe in Kültür Park, the 2013 film The Butterfly’s Dream, written and directed by Yılmaz Erdoğan, was shown. The event attracted strong interest from the people of Mersin, who enjoyed the unique experience of watching a film under the stars on a summer evening.
Starring Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Mert Fırat, The Butterfly’s Dream tells the story of young poets Rüştü Onur and Muzaffer Tayyip Uslu, who lived in Zonguldak during the years of World War II. Set against the social conditions of the period, the film portrays the two young poets’ relationship with literature and art, their friendship, and their struggles in life.
