Production Preparations for Danalar ve İnsanlar (Of Calves and Men) Completed in Mersin

Production preparations for the feature fiction film Danalar ve İnsanlar (Of Calves and Men), produced by FNR Film and directed by Fikret Reyhan, have been completed in Mersin.

Supported by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the recipient of the TRT 12 Punto Co-Production Award, the film is set to begin filming in Mersin on 22 October 2026, with support from the Mersin Film Office. The entire film will be shot in Mersin.

Filming will take place at locations reflecting the natural and cultural character of Tarsus. Set in a small Anatolian village, the film tells the story of a seemingly simple dispute that emerges in everyday life and gradually escalates into an uncontrollable conflict.

The production is also drawing on Mersin’s local artistic and production capacity. The team has held meetings with actors from the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality City Theatre who will appear in the film, and rehearsals have also taken place. In addition, local employment opportunities have been created across the casting and production processes, contributing to the involvement of professionals from Mersin in the project.

The Mersin Film Office continues to support film productions taking place across different parts of the city, foster collaboration between local industry professionals and production teams, and connect Mersin’s natural, cultural, and diverse locations with national and international film projects.
