Mersin Film Office Brought Historic Tarsus Houses to Europe's Digital Location Showcase
The Mersin Film Office (MFO), operating under the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality's Department of Culture, Art and Social Affairs, presented Mersin to the attention of the international film industry through a digital showcase and catalog project themed "The World's Natural Filming Locations," prepared by the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN). As part of this effort, the Historic Tarsus Houses, one of Mersin's important cultural heritage sites, were featured in EUFCN's digital publications, which aim to connect distinctive filming locations with international production professionals, and were shared with European film commissions and representatives of the global cinema sector.
This international promotional effort, which aims to increase the visibility of distinctive filming locations in the film and television industry, brings Mersin's historical and cultural values to the attention of the global film industry while also strengthening the city's potential in film tourism and creative industries.
The Only Film Office from Turkey to Be a Member of EUFCN

Headquartered in Brussels, the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) works to support the development of the European film industry, connect film-friendly regions with international producers, and strengthen cooperation among film commissions. Today, bringing together film commissions from 33 countries, this network includes the Mersin Film Office as the sole office representing Türkiye, and it aims to make Mersin one of the preferred centers for film production by developing projects that strengthen the city's cinema ecosystem on an international scale.

EUFCN membership strengthens the relationships the Mersin Film Office has built with the international film industry, while also making it part of an important network that supports knowledge sharing, co-production opportunities, and cultural collaborations between Europe and Türkiye.
